Good article in the Observer today about the potential balkanisation of the net. Looks like it might come down to a bunch of 80 year old senators.

This doesn't seem to quite square with how the Internet is being censored in China, though.

The Internet should be free (as in speech) but it's an idea that it's easy to feel uncomfortable with, mostly as that freedom comes with absolutlely no resposibility from the users.

The Internet is only revolutionary for those who have access to it, for the rest they have to keep swapping tapes and buying bootleg CDs in order to keep sticking it to Sony (or whoever).; 5:58 pm
