Back, back and BACK!

Sorry I haven't posted for ages.
Went to see the bard of Barking last night in Sheffield on his 'Hope Not Hate' anti-BNP tour. Fantastic!
I know for years now he's been saying - you know, I'm not that political, most of my songs are love songs.
Not last night they weren't.
'There's Power In the Union' made an early appearance, then towards the end a barrage of anti-fascist songs all ably supported by Ian McLagan's keyboard. Yes, of the Small Faces.
One of the funnier ones was the 'Bush War Blues' sung to the tune of Leadbelly's 'Bourgeois Blues.'
Nothing from Mermaid Avenue though - which was a bit of a surprise.
Anyhoo - excellent!!

There's a concert of Billy's on Archive.Org here http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=35305 from March 26th 2006 and he does "Way Over Yonder In A Minor Key". Other than that, yes, it does look very political. I like the relatively new one NPWA quite a bit.
