U2-bah

Finally got the video on the tinterweb. Don't know why but I can only see about a quarter of the visual footage. Anyhoo its the audio that makes it. Check out the big cheer when I go for the long 'daaaayyyyy!' Hopefully someone will stumble upon it and comment on how awful it is.

Tom Waits for No Man

Always a cause for celebration - Tom Waits has a 'new' album coming out. In actuality its not really new. A collection of 'B-sides' and such, although I've never really thought of Tom as a 'singles' type fellow. Anyhoo - 2:19 is presumably Tom's version of a song which appeared on John Hammond's 'Wicked Grin' album - worth checking out in itself. Buzz Fledderjohn appeared on a charity album a while ago in the States. Heigh-Ho is the dwarf song from 'Stay Awake' a series of Disney covers.
Let's hope it's better than 'Real Gone' which was a bit 'noisy.' Would be nice to hear a few more ballads this time.
I wonder if he'll play England again...

Me and Bob

Got my study / studio sort of finished.
Jenny got me this picture to hang in it.
Perfect.

Thomas Lang in Doncaster

Amazing Austrian drummer. Played a workshop in Doncaster on Tuesday. What can I say? Check out the video. He didn't do much of the 'this is a paradiddle' type workshop stuff. Just basically did about 5 drum solos. At one point someone asked him what is feels like to be the best drummer in the world to which he replied 'it feels good.' Refreshingly honest answer. None of this - well I don't think you can say someone is best etc. ... The last clinic I saw at Doncaster that was good was Horacio 'el negro' Hernandez - again brilliant with a more Cuban flavour. For the record Terry Bozzio was really boring.
If you haven't discovered Drummerworld yet then what the hell have you been doing?
