Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

I know it's a bit late but I just found my camera in the hallway and ran off these pics I took over the Christmas period.

Banks Holiday

Sadly another good politician dies, there's not too many left. There was a quote on Radio 4 this morning of him saying 'John Major was so unpopular if he'd have become an undertaker people would have stopped dying.'

3mds - in remission

Some slight movement from 3mds camp. They - or we I should say - are not so much taking over the world, more gradually inhabiting very small parts of it like a benign cancer.
Anyhow, Nath has set up this new fangled my space type thingy.

The old site is still there as well.

Also check out 'Bones' in his other guise with Los Skeletones.

The Invasion

New series on Channel 4.
It could be awful - looks more Roswell High than X-Files but it does have a 'blog' type thing with it - quite funny.
Perhaps more worrying is the sudden resurection of Noel Edmonds career in Deal or No Deal. Everyone's going on about it - so I watched it the other day... and it's rubbish. Really, people, if you want to enjoy gambling start a poker game with your friends. If you don't have any friends watch Late Night Poker.
I love the fact that they claim sole responsibility for the sudden popularity of poker in Britain. I guess all those American shows (Sopranos - notably, but many others including if memory serves even Roseanne for Christ sakes, Simpsons etc.) just passed people by. Yes, I know these programs have been round for years. But, really, if you can popularise something by a TV show that appears on random nights in the middle of the night... come on... what's on tonght? Boxing and French football. Two sports that'll be sweeping the nation any time soon. Let's face it the last time boxing was interesting Mohammed Ali was about to get drafted... and French Football - French Football. We all know the last time they won it was a fix. Altogether now 'brie... and grapes? ... dirty bastards.'

Sports Cars and Playstations

Yes I am now the proud owner of a PSP. I went for the gigapack with the car based games - GTA and Midnight Run. Essentially the same game but with more shooting in the former and more racing in the latter. Of course what I really want is Gran Turismo. Apparently there are plans to release it on the console - virtually unchanged! Fortunetely I have given up drinking for the New Year so nights in the pub may well be replaced by nights in, trying to get all my licences. Sad, very sad. Actually the real reason for the PSP was to while away those hours sat in the van on the way to gigs in Exeter, etc. Especially as it's too dark to read at this time of year. The irony of course is that I will have to occasionally put down the PSP and drive the van. Must remember which is which.
In related news, my cousin is the proud owner of a 350z GT4. Is this the first car/ computer game tie-in or not? You actually get a free PS2 and copy of GT4 with the car. I quite like the yellow finish - however he's gone for the more sedate black option. Still, in the words of Robbie Robertson quoting Ronnie Hawkins when he was trying to convince him to join his band "you'll get more pussy than Frank Sinatra."

For those who missed it...

There was some report over the Christmas perioed of Santas going wild in Auckland. I think these Santarchy guys were kind of blamed but denied it.
Adbusters were trying for a Buy Nothing Christmas. I guess that's what my friends were doing. Tight bastards.
Speaking of Adbuster I have bought the Blackspot v2 trainers which are very nice, if not exactly the most hard wearing shoes.
And finally... in other counter culture related news - if hawking t-shirts online is what passes for counter culture nowadays - Egokiller is Greg's (formerly of 3mds and Booster Atlas fame) exciting Leeds based site. Check out the comment box - there are postings in there from September. I'm only gloating because I had my first 'comment' recently - see previous post.
